Autism, McCain, and Obama
Autism, McCain, and Obama

The Autism Society of America, founded more than 40 years ago, asked the 2008 presidential candidates to share their views on the issues surrounding autism. In response, Senators McCain and Obama declared their proposed plans to tackle the issue. Each candidate appears to strongly support long-term federal funding of autism diagnosis, treatment, education and lifespan needs. Senator Obama says that he will commit to increase federal funding of research and treatment to a whopping $1 billion annually by the end of his first term.
Autism is a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain. It is said that 1 of every 150 children born will have the disorder.
